Whitelabel support for Mobile Publishing (Eyemags) and new exciting publisher features

EyeMags (eyemags.com), the content mobile app generator for all mobile phones, announces today support for Whitelabelling of all the functionality under anyone’s branding. As a first example of this being achieved we announce MobileMags a site to allow the Fashion Industry to create Fashion Magazine apps. This site is run as a whitelabel by the Fashion blog network 360Fashion.net.

The CEO of 360Fashion the super model Anina said "Bringing Fashion publishing into the mobile has been a long time goal for 360Fashion. Working together with Robin Jewsbury to create a high quality publishing platform was a great integration to our product offerings. We are proud to work together with Robin create a powerful publishing platform for serious publishers."

Also announced today are some new exciting new publishing features which become available to EyeMags and its' whitelabel partners on the same day. These features are available as a service called Premium EyeMags. Premium capability can be purchased by the publisher for as little as US$4.95 per app and the cost reduces as the number of apps being produced increases. The download of the apps themselves remains free and creating non premium EyeMags also remains free. As a consumer service EyeMags remains 100% free.

The new capabilities include allowing more pages in the app produced and more a new capability we call e-Links on every story of the app. e-Links are ecommerce links they allow the publisher to define, not just web links, but the links can take the user into an e-commerce transaction by sending an SMS or making a phone call. There are also special types of link for competition replies, map references and videos.

In non premium mode EyeMags is a free service for publishers and consumers of the content.

You can see how easy it is to create a premium apps with all the new features and then install the application on several phones and watch Robin Jewsbury demonstrate this in less than 10 mins at

New publisher options coming soon

As the industry gears up for the iPad launch in January, EyeMags is adding extra support for professional publishers.

The big annoucement is in a few days. In the meantime watch this video to see how Time Inc is solving these issues for the iPad. The big difference is what you see here will only work on the iPad whereas EyeMags will work everywhere. So don't expect quite so much sexy graphics in our version. The big difference though is that with EyeMags everyone can have it - you don't have to buy an iPad.

S60 Touch phone support Released today

EyeMags (eyemags.com), a personal content application generator for all mobile phones, announces today that they can provide full support for S60 Touch phones including the Nokia N97, N97 mini, Nokia 5800, Nokia 5900, Nokia 5230 and Sony Ericsson Satio phones. Content applications are built by the server using WRT widget technology.

Following our successful launch of the iPhone App Creation last week further work with the top end Smartphone market sees us launch support for these latest Nokia and Sony Ericsson Smartphones. Both these technologies build on top of the mobile Java (J2ME) applications used for all other devices.

Now non developers can build their own content applications for most phones from low end to the top end Smartphones and make them available to the public immediately using the EyeMags technology. EyeMags believe this is a world first and expect significant uptake of their service. The advantage for publishers is that these applications are automatically available for all other phone types at the same time.

EyeMags was developed two years ago by founder Robin Jewsbury while working with the Mippin.com team. EyeMags was a prototype system for developing some of the sharing features which were put into Mippin. “What surprised us was the huge uptake in the EyeMags service even though we did not promote it. Nearly 9,000 apps were created in two years and these are now all available for download to the S60 touch phones and the iPhone as well as all other phones” says founder Robin Jewsbury. “EyeMags was such a success that we decided to create a new company, just for EyeMags so we could concentrate on it.”

The applications are simple content applications. They do not have the rich functionality that many Appstore apps have, so Robin Jewsbury does not see them as a direct competitor to the other Appstores. Estimates, appeared this week saying about 20% of the apps in the iPhone Appstore are simple content apps like EyeMags so it’s at this level where there is overlap. The difference is that EyeMags is a one-stop shop for the same content available to all phones and this content can be created by anyone without any development expertise. It is believed there is no other comparable service.

EyeMags is a free service for publishers and consumers of the content and will always be free for low end and feature phones. Creation of Smartphone applications will remain free until the end of December after which time there will be a small charge levied on publishers to enable it for publication. Anything created before that date will remain free for all time so content owner are encouraged to use us sooner rather than later.

You can see how easy it is to create and install an application and watch Robin Jewsbury demonstrate this in less than 5 mins at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N04WvI0xE0Q.

Release of the People's iPhone Appstore

Today, EyeMags.com releases the People's iPhone Appstore. Now anyone can create their own simple iPhone apps and they can immediately by downloaded to iPhones and iPod touches.

Now non developers can build their own iPhone content applications and make them available to the public immediately using the EyeMags technology.

Nearly 9,000 apps were created in two years and these are now all available for download to the iPhone as well as all other phones” says founder Robin Jewsbury. “EyeMags was such a success that we decided to create a new company, just for EyeMags so we could concentrate on it.”

The applications are simple content applications. They do not have the rich functionality that many Appstore apps have, so Robin Jewsbury does not see them as a direct competitor to the iTunes Appstore. It does, however, fill a need for people to publish their own content to the iPhone cost effectively and without waiting for weeks for it to be approved. Even though EyeMags are HTML5 Webapps the applications are very different to those on Apples own webapps site at http://apple.com/webapps. This site contains links to websites, whereas EyeMags applications can be installed, run full screen and can be run without network connection to the Internet once installed.

EyeMags is a free service for publishers and consumers of the content. Creation of iPhone applications remain free until the end of the year after which time there will be a small charge levied on publishers to enable it for publication. Anything created before that date will remain free. Additionally publishers will be able to pay a larger but cost effective fee for their apps to be built into native applications which can be published to the iTunes appstore.

You can see how easy it is to create and install an application and watch Robin Jewsbury demonstrate this in less than 5 mins at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N04WvI0xE0Q.
